SCANNER

Musician, composer, experimental sonic artist

Vex is a curved, fluted concrete house in Stoke Newington designed by Chance de Silva. It’s also an unusual collaboration between the architect and the musician and composer SCANNER, aka Robin Rimbaud. Both the music and architecture take as their starting point Erik Satie’s ‘Vexations’ – a looping, repetitive piano work that lasts around 18 hours in continuous performance.

For this evening at the Bartlett School of Architecture, Steve Chance and Robin Rimbaud reunited to talk about their unique collaboration, and what future such collaboartions might bring to both architectural and compostiitonal practice.
